Christmas at the Hospitals – PNH009/FSG

The celebration of Christmas with one’s family is one of the most awaited moments of the year, to reunite with relatives and friends to taste the Christmas supper and open the presents with a fully decorated house in the Christmas theme. This, however, is a moment that not everyone can enjoy.

To brighten the day of whoever has to spend this day at the hospital, in the spirit of social responsibility, the Sérgio Gago Foundation had the initiative to offer every year 500 kits in the paediatric wards of the Central Hospitals all over the country during the Christmas season.

It’s an initiative that aims to reach about 500 children hospitalised in these health units at an important time, especially for the children. This is the way the Foundation has found to show the patients and those who accompany them that they are not alone. Our presence brings a little joy to the little ones who suffer from different illnesses and who cannot get together and celebrate Christmas with their families.

The initiative began in December 2018 and during this period we donated 500 gifts to approximately 436 hospitalised children and 51 patients of the Help Bank, and we also gifted those who accompanied them as a way to encourage them in their fight for the health of their children.
