Ecological Bottles – PGE001/FSG

It’s the pioneer project implemented by the Gago Foundation, in November 2015, with the purpose to bring awareness to the citizens about the need to preserve the Environment through the separation of solid waste. This project consists of the creation of infrastructures to deposit solid waste, so called “Ecological Bottles”. These infrastructures were designed for the selective collection of solid waste. They have an original design and an attractive kind of beauty.

With this initiative, we intend to introduce the 3 rs policy (reduce, reuse and recycle), thus contributing to citizenship, civic education and reduction of the proliferation of waste in the streets and side walks. It’s worth to mention that the bottles were designed to receive plastic waste (red), metal (yellow), glass (green) and paper (blue).

In this process, we established partnerships with the County Council in the City of Maputo and with COMSOL (Maputo’s Cooperative for Environmental Solutions), where COMSOL is the entity in chargeável pela recolha e gestão dos resíduos depositados nas Garrafas Ecológicas.
